How does a shared shortcode work?
The way that we determine who gets the inbound traffic to a shared shortcode is based on the first word in the text message.
This first word is called a "keyword". When you sign up for the aql shared shortcode service, you are allowed up to ten keywords. These keywords are assigned on a first-come-first-served basis. We've only just launched this service so it's likely that there are some very good keywords available.
By default your account will simply store any SMS which arrive inbound to your keyword.
NOTE - if you choose info responder or info email, this will send back an SMS to the original sender which will be billed to them at the premium billing rate of the code you have chosen -eg
64446 -- Bills at £1 per response
83010 -- Bills at 25p per response
85010 -- Bills at 50p per response
82010 -- Bills at £5 per response
